Senior Project Manager Tunnel drilling
About the job
As Senior Project Manager at APK Group, you will take operational control of our drilling projects from award to completion. You will manage project leaders, monitor planning, quality and budgets, and work closely with engineering offices, clients and logistics partners. This role is strategic: you will have the opportunity to improve processes, exploit commercial opportunities and further develop the team, with prospects for advancement.
Some of your duties include:
- Leading multiple project leaders and managing execution teams.
- Ensure tight planning and operational execution of drilling projects; minimise downtime and optimise uptime.
- Coordinate with external engineering firms and technical stakeholders; translate design into executable plan.
- Daily coordination with the building owner/client and local teams.
- Budget monitoring, time control and reporting on project progress to management.
- Identify and roll out commercial opportunities during execution.
- Work with logistics officer on local regulations and logistics; explore foreign markets (Europe and beyond).
- Ensuring quality, safety and completion documentation on delivery.
Your profile
- You have a master's degree (e.g. Civil Engineer or Industrial Engineer) and at least 10 years' experience in complex infrastructure projects.
- Technical background and comfort with heavier engineering and equipment; experience in offshore or dredging projects is a plus.
- Experienced people manager: you know how to coach teams, switch between strategy and implementation and lead multiple projects simultaneously.
- Commercial sense: you spot opportunities and help think about scalability and growth.
- Languages: Dutch and English fluent; German and French are a strong asset.
- Availability to travel occasionally (projects mainly in Belgium, Europe and occasionally outside Europe).
- Personal: professional, direct in communication, solution-oriented and hands-on.

About the company
K-Boringen, a high-performance and solution-oriented company for pipe jacking and microtunnelling throughout Europe. We drill pipes and tunnels with diameters of up to 4 metres and lengths of over 1.5 kilometres. We do this for the supply and drainage of water and gas or as a conduit for cables and pipelines where open-trench installation is not an option, such as under buildings, waterways, railways or under the seabed and even through hard rock such as Swiss mountains.
