APK Group carries out projects relating to electricity grids, home connections and civil infrastructure in West Flanders and beyond. We are looking for a Business Unit Manager with a strong technical background, someone who can think along practically, lead projects and manage teams on site. The focus is on execution and technical direction; management tasks are concrete and hands-on.
Some of your duties include:
- Leading at project level: ensuring that projects (connections, grid extensions, repair works) are completed safely, qualitatively and on schedule.
- Technical direction: reviewing execution plans, material choices and working methods.
- Coaching shift and site managers, collaborating on operational approach and priorities.
- Track costs, KPIs and reporting; suggest practical efficiency improvements.
- Ensuring safety and quality on the yards; analysing incidents and making immediate adjustments.
- Managing subcontractors and coordinating with internal APK units.
- Direct contact with customers and local stakeholders during execution; short lines to management.
- Regular site presence, operational planning and on-site troubleshooting.
Your profile
- Strong technical knowledge of infra, excavation and grid connections (electricity and related techniques).
- Demonstrated experience in project or site management; practical and hands-on attitude.
- Results-oriented, decisive and solution-oriented.
- Accurate and safety-conscious; you take responsibility on the shop floor.
- Good communication skills; you can interact with both technicians and customers.
- Dutch required; French is a plus.
- Driving licence B and willingness to be on sites regularly.
