APK Group is looking for a driven Legal Counsel for its operations in East and West Flanders who wants to help build on the further growth of a leading Belgian group. You will join an experienced and multidisciplinary legal team that supports the operational departments and management with high-quality legal expertise.
As Legal Counsel, you act as legal contact for various business units. You work closely with an operational director and support the organisation in a broad spectrum of legal issues in cooperation with your colleagues. You combine advice, contract and risk management and process optimisation with a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach.
Some of your duties include:
- You will advise the business on a variety of legal issues and supervise complex files within different areas of law.
- You will assess, negotiate and draft contracts with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
- You will monitor the entire onboarding and offboarding process of subcontractors.
- You monitor relevant developments in national laws and regulations (company law, contract law, labour and social law, contracting law, etc.) and translate them into concrete advice.
- You monitor legal risks within the business units and ensure correct follow-up of internal processes.
- You will support board and management during negotiations and help them translate complex legal matters into practice.
- You will report to and can count on the support of the Chief Legal Officer
Your profile
- You have a master's degree in law.
- You have at least 5 - 7 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in the construction or infrastructure sector or a background at the front desk is a plus.
- You are analytical, critical, accurate and can work project-based.
- You communicate clearly, are negotiable and know how to build trust.
- You work independently but function equally well in a team.
- You enjoy taking initiative and attach great importance to quality and customer focus.
- You have an excellent knowledge of Dutch and a good knowledge of English; knowledge of French is an asset.
- You are flexible and willing to move between different offices in East and West Flanders.
