About the job
As Managing Director Tunnelling, you will lead the full operational and technical operation of our microtunnelling activities and related businesses. You will provide structure, manage the team and, together with management, develop new strategic opportunities within trenchless techniques.
Some of your duties include:
- Technical support and management of a young team of project managers.
- Prepare quotes, perform calculations and monitor budgets.
- Coordinate project preparation and execution.
- Solve legal-technical issues in an international environment (including FIDIC/UAV-GC/VOB).
- Communication with partners in Dutch and German.
- Participate in the strategic scope expansions to include HDD, e-power pipe, ground suction trucks, casing plants, ...
- Operational management of the Hasselt branch.
Your profile
- A mature, hands-on leader with technical depth and a sense of entrepreneurship.
- Master's degree in civil or industrial engineering in structural, electromechanical or geotechnical engineering.
- Min 10 years' experience in civil engineering, tunnelling or underground works.
- Strong affinity with execution, engineering and project management.
- Good knowledge of Dutch and German. French is a nice touch.
- Willingness to be physically present in Hasselt daily during walk-in hours.
- Experience in strategic leadership or P&L responsibility.
- Knowledge of legal frameworks (FIDIC, UAV-GC).

About the company
K-Boringen, a high-performance and solution-oriented company for pipe jacking and microtunnelling throughout Europe. We drill pipes and tunnels with diameters of up to 4 metres and lengths of over 1.5 kilometres. We do this for the supply and drainage of water and gas or as a conduit for cables and pipelines where open-trench installation is not an option, such as under buildings, waterways, railways or under the seabed and even through hard rock such as Swiss mountains.
